Random Chaos

On the way to work I set up my phone for easy uploads of interesting crap.

 

Like these crabapples.  They'd be pretty enough to eat except I have no idea if they are even edible.

 

Pretty stuff.

 

But the search for stuff reminded me of something I usually avoid:  webs.  And nests.

 

Specifically, bagworm nests.

I don't know why but I've got an unreasoning terror of bagworms.

 

I've never even seen a real one.  The closest I've ever gotten is the pokémon Pineco and Burmy--and the latter is creepy enough to me that I've never gotten all is
of its forms.

 

All I've ever seen are the nests.  Weird, meshy things that look like fake spider webs (also terrified of those)... but thick and strong enough to catch large things.  Branches, leaves, small dead things...

 

And the nesty net things stretch so far--across trees, over entire bushes, and most disconcertingly, over holes in the ground where stuff can fall, covered by debris so one never knows that there's an impending fall until--

 

KEEP THIS THING AWAY FROM ME!  *flee*
