Calling your attacks!

Everyone does it.  It's useful sometimes: the only way you know that something is about to hit you upside your head.  But this can also backfire.

Take, for instance, Zidane.

On the ground he's fairly hard to read.  He's a blocker's bane.

But!

Though his strength is in the air, it is also where he is easiest to defend against.  The one attack--the one where he throws his daggers, combos, and then hits the Meo Twister? It is heavily telegraphed.  After one hit by that I was able to work out my BF's strategy, and all subsequent attempts at that tactic failed.  It is easy to block.

This is probably why the ragequit.

Calling one's attacks by repeating the same pattern is a bad idea in DDFF PVP.

Just don't tell him that.  Unless you're ready to leave combat.

... I'd be talkier, but I am still Droiding it up.

To-Do List:
-- the same as the last one, except with an emphasis on getting the internet back.

Yah, even in Japanese he just has to announce what he's about to do. But since it's a bravery attack it's a neccessary evil. (Though try fighting against HP attacks in kanji you're not going to be able to register quickly enough let alone read and try to figure out how to combat them. There is a reason I hate Japanese CoD so much...)

Though when Japanese!Sephiroth calls out Octaslash I am not relieved at all. Know why? Because he booms "斬る!" (Slice, cut, lop off, use a blade, kill a human etc.) which sounds exactly like "KILL!". Hearing this from Sephiroth, specifically japanese!Sephiroth, as he uses a bastard HP attack that probably WILL 斬る me...yeah, you can understand the fear.

Exactly what it says on the tin? The irony was that I was about as predictable and yet I won more of those.

I do not want to know how nerve-wracking the HP attacks are! So much " WTF IS THIS * dead*" And this is before we remember that Sephiroth in Japanese is just plain distracting.

The good news is the computer cable... HAS BEEN FOUND

The bad news is that I still need the big!internet.

Speaking of tins, the tin cans are hilarious to listen to in Japanese. Gabs RAEGs over EVERYTHING, Golbez is determined to be as crisp and class as a $1000 bill, Garland is INCORPORATING THE SECRET TECHNIQUE OF HAM THAT HAS BEEN PASSED DOWN THE ARMSTRONG FAMILY FOR GENERATIONS and we all know about Exdeath...

At least the FFIX guys are nice enough to have their stuff in katakana. I can translate that!

HOORAY!!!

...Or not...

I wanna hear the canned ham...

Now to get rid of this nausea! Either I've given us food poisoning or I'm getting sick. TBH I think his griping is over the curbstomp that was the last fight, but it wasn't my cooking last night. I was too sick with a migraine to cook so it was fast food

I'll know in a couple of hours...

I need to do some fights with them and upload 'em. I've been meaning to since I got the damn thing but...LAZY! (I also need to upload some english vids of me vs [livejournal.com profile] laifan and [livejournal.com profile] saltedpin's friend cards. Salted's WoL is such an evil biyotch but such a satisfying fight. And Laifan's Yuna gave poor Zid hell.)

Aw, that sucks. I've been KO'd most of the day thanks to my ovaries (and have finally decided to consult the doctor and see about getting back on the pill because even though I hate being on it, it doesn't mean I'm knocked out of action for a good 3-4 days every month.) I love the taste of fast food (such hideously addictive people heroin or whatever it is they use to disguise the substandard quality) but I hate the after effects.

I'd watch that fight!

That's gotta be it. Fast food is lightly dusted with salt and confectioner's heroin. It's how they get us. And this was pizza... heavy, greasy, covered in bacon... heroin and bacon.

The Pill was a necessary evil for three years. Then we found out that it might give me a stroke (my migraines on estrogen=bad) and I went on this thing that they put in my arm that had some sort of testosterone derivative in it. So there are options.

Plain English: I'm kinda on steroids now. XD

I'd hit the doctor's office. Your ovaries have RAEG.

dammit thing ate the rest

That WoL has a combo platter glut. You get Rune Saber'd or Bitter End'd so many times... And the Yuna will bitchslap you with Shiva or Valefor SO HARD...

I tried it for a bit a few years back due to needing to avoid my venomous ovaries during exams (I had the misfortune of them sriking during my GCSEs which cost me at least two exams, one of which I burst into tears during because the pains were just that bad) but that still caused me some grief. But considering that I just can't afford for this to be a regular thing, the pill it most likely has to be. My ma apparently had the same problem and she was fortunate enough that after 6 months of the pill her ovaries calmed down. I'm hoping that is what will happen.

I'd better have kids some day because otherwise this crap just isn't worth it.

.... Yeah, we're a matched set. Going off means being borderline crippled. Take it from someone who missed chunks of class time from it
They're only still in because one day I might ( and I'm not even positive!) want a small one running around one day.

WHOSE IDEA WAS THIS CURSE?!

What really grates me (aside from the sensation of a cheesegrater wreaking hell in there) is being accused of being overdramatic and just wanting some time off. If I weren't reduced to day old kitten level of weakness I'd be opening up a can of whoopass on anybody who said that. Nevermind, I'll just get Mont to sic 'em.

So bad was this idea that when I first began developing my OC series it put me off the idea of having any main female characters in there (it was a superhero series) because my experience made me convinced that it would be impossible for a mature girl or woman to take up a full-time role where people would depend on them when that crap occured once a month. Of course now I know better but it made me skeptical about female superheroes for a while.

I KNOW RIGHT?

If there were a way to demonstrate this sensation we'd have a fix by now.

WE GOT BONER PILLS OUT THE YINGYANG BUT NO ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION FOR THIS.

I SAY UNTO YOU: Whut?

That reminds me I have to go out and download the update to my writing program. ( Kolkata, autocorrect? How is that anything like update?)

My head may be convinced that it's swimming but at least Pixiv can help cheer me up! I should've known the shippers would've latched onto this pairing as soon as Report 01 came out...

Poor Kuja puppet.

(I guess when they were developing 012 the writers decided to troll the fanbase by ship teasing Terra with HE WHO INDUCES WANK (aka Vaan) and the villain that everyone is convinced is homosexual (even though after Seymour he's canonically the straightest FF villain thanks to perving over Garnet) because Pixiv was pairing her with every other guy in the original Dissidia.)
